Prep Time 1 hour 10 minutes
Cook Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant dry yeast
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1/2 tbsp rosemary
  • 1/2 tbsp granulated garlic

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Little Bowl
  • Dutch Oven

Method

  1. Add the honey and 1/2 cup of lukewarm water in a small bowl. Dissolve the yeast in the liquid and let rise for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. While yeast is rising, chop fresh rosemary.
  3. Add flour, rosemary, and granulated garlic and remaining lukewarm water to mixing bowl and mix thoroughly.
  4. Add the dissolved yeast and combine using a fork or a spoon.
  5. Cover the bowl with a warm, slightly damp paper towel and let rise for at least 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 350℉ and heat up dutch oven.
  7. Gently transfer risen dough to a parchment paper and put in warmed dutch oven.
  8. Bake the loaf in the oven for 30-40 minutes. If you want the crust to be more brown, remove the cover from the Dutch oven for the last 15 minutes.
  9. After baking, let the loaf rest for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
